3 Years
The B.A. Programme is a three-year undergraduate course that offers a broad-based education, allowing students to study two main disciplines instead of specializing in just one, as in an Honours course. It is structured under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and designed for flexibility and interdisciplinary learning.
Discipline Courses (DC I and DC II):
Students select two disciplines from approved subject combinations. These are the core components of the programme.
Common options at Miranda House include:
History
Political Science
Economics
Philosophy
Hindi
Sanskrit
Mathematics (subject to eligibility)
Computer Applications (if offered)
Generic Electives (GE):
Students choose subjects outside their core disciplines to gain interdisciplinary exposure.
Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC):
These are practical, skill-oriented courses like creative writing, computer skills, translation, or project-based work.
Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC):
Mandatory courses focusing on communication (like English/MIL Communication) and Environmental Studies.
Language Course (if applicable):
Students may have to take a Modern Indian Language (MIL) or English depending on their stream and combination.
