3 Years
The B.A. Programme allows students to combine two discipline-specific courses (usually from the arts, humanities, and social sciences). Students can also take electives and skill-based courses, providing them with a well-rounded education.
Two Discipline Courses (DC I & DC II):
Students choose two subjects from a set of approved combinations. Common combinations available at Motilal Nehru College typically include:
History
Political Science
Economics
Hindi
Sociology
Geography
Psychology
Philosophy
Generic Electives (GE):
In addition to the two main disciplines, students can take Generic Electives (subjects outside their chosen combination). These may include subjects like English, Environmental Studies, or other interdisciplinary options.
Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC):
These courses aim to enhance practical and employable skills, such as:
Computer applications
Project management
Creative writing
Translation
Public speaking
Entrepreneurship
Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC):
These mandatory courses focus on English/MIL Communication and Environmental Studies, ensuring that students improve their basic skills while promoting environmental awareness.
The course is completed over three years (six semesters).
Candidates must have completed 12th grade from a recognized board with a minimum percentage requirement.
Specific subject combinations may require particular eligibility (e.g., Economics might require Mathematics as one of the 12th-grade subjects).
Admission to the B.A. Programme at Motilal Nehru College is typically based on the cut-off percentage announced by the college. The cut-offs are released after the declaration of Class 12 results.
In some cases, there may be an entrance exam for specific programs or specializations.
Graduates from the B.A. Programme have a wide range of career opportunities:
Civil Services: UPSC, State PCS, and other government exams.

NGOs and Social Work: Involvement in community service, social research, and human rights advocacy.
Teaching: At schools or coaching centers, or pursuing further studies for teaching at the university level.
